Perhaps a more muted shade would have worked better. Thanks for the input!

Comment on Color Choices in Card Making by Larry Radford http://www.certainsmiles.com/2015/01/color-choices-in-card-making/#comment-61 Wed, 28 Jan 2015 01:07:14 +0000 http://www.certainsmiles.com/?p=256#comment-61 I don’t think Pink is a bad choice; the intensity of the pink may be adjusted however generally I understand that one of the reasons women enjoy pink as a favorite color is because it seems calming. I also know from a western perspective that pink signifies life (e.g. “in the pink”). Please don’t give up on this color so easily.

Signed Calm in Columbus.

Comment on Some Thoughts on Sympathy Cards by Nancy Sauer http://www.certainsmiles.com/2014/08/some-thoughts-on-sympathy-cards/#comment-35 Sun, 17 Aug 2014 22:05:29 +0000 http://www.certainsmiles.com/?p=86#comment-35 Your beautiful blog on sympathy and reaching out to grieving friends brought tears to my eyes. How often we want to express our feelings but hesitate for fear of causing hurt when instead our expressions of sympathy will give more comfort than we can imagine. Your blog said it just right.

Comment on What to Say in a Sympathy Card After a Pet Dies by Cindy Sauer http://www.certainsmiles.com/2014/06/what-to-say-in-a-sympathy-card-after-loss-of-a-pet/#comment-16 Thu, 24 Jul 2014 10:51:30 +0000 http://www.certainsmiles.com/?p=24#comment-16 Update: Sweet Virginia passed away on Monday, July 21st. It was time. Her personality was still there, but her body had simply given out on her. She was the last of my “original” cats from when I lived in Albany, NY. I still have two cats, but they are my “Westchester” cats. Guess I’ll have to update my “about me” page and change the number that I live with. Two is a good number, it gets expensive to have a lot of cats, between vet bills, cat food and cat litter (I often wonder how many pounds I scoop a month….) But I do miss my little girl.

Comment on To Send an E-Card or a Paper Card…That is the Question by Cindy Sauer http://www.certainsmiles.com/2014/07/to-send-an-e-card-or-a-paper-cardthat-is-the-question/#comment-11 Sat, 05 Jul 2014 20:33:13 +0000 http://www.certainsmiles.com/?p=46#comment-11 I think anything to do with a job should still be done the old fashioned way — in handwriting. Of course, the last time I did that, the interviewer hadn’t even gotten my thank you note before they had called me to tell me they’d chosen someone else for the position…. Today’s world is moving faster, so maybe e-notes are acceptable here too.

What about Thank You cards for an informational interview or for taking the time to consider me as a candidate for an open position — are these better as actual cards or is an electronic card acceptable?
